During an oral exam, the dentist thoroughly checks teeth for:
- Fractures
- Decay (cavities)
- Abscesses
- Tightness of bridges and/or crowns if present
- Occlusion (bite)
- Impactions
Reads any necessary x-rays for:
- Decay (cavities)
- Abscesses
- Cysts or granulomos
- Bone level (periodontal disease)
- Cancers
- Other forms of pathology
